MC Santi makes his debut with "Math Volume 1". As a professional traveling musician with multiple national acts and song writer living in Nashville TN, MC Santi has combined his passion for music with his passion for education. The result is a fun, educational CD with a mainstream pop/hip hop sound.



Before touring fulltime, MC Santi (Ivan Santiago) began teaching math at the High School level (2002).  He would later teach at the middle school level also.  After a few years, he moved to Nashville in 2007 to pursue a full time career as a traveling musician and song writer.  In 2011, desiring to move into another phase of life, Ivan left the touring life to get back into the classroom and begin applying new ideas in the classroom to help facilitate student learning.



With the influence that music has on students daily, MC Santi has aimed to capture the minds of students everywhere with melodic lines that are memorable and infectious. Students and teachers have testified to the effectiveness of "Math Volume 1", with vocabulary and math concepts getting engrained into students minds whether they tried to memorize the lyrics or not. The result has been class rooms that have become more hip and students that have retained more information.



"Math Volume 1" is only the beginning of MC Santi's vision to make math more fun.  With Volume 2 under way, MC Santi is also producing music videos that  show the steps and add a flare to each math song.  Lessons for each song will be posted on the "Behind The Songs" page periodically as free resources for students, parents and teachers alike.
